Senior Finance Manager

Overview

An excellent opportunity to lead a large accounting and finance function with an international mining company. We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated professional to oversee and manage our accounting, financial reporting, tax compliance, and budgeting processes. Responsibilities

Accounting Oversight and Management

  • Supervise and guide daily operations of the accounting team.

  • Ensure accurate recording of complex transactions, revenue recognition, and financial resource management.

  • Lead month-end and year-end closing processes within established timelines.

  • Develop, implement, and update accounting policies and procedures, ensuring compliance and effectiveness.

  • Enforce internal controls to align with company policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Ensure ethical financial operations free from conflicts of interest.

Financial Reporting

  • Review quarterly and annual financial statements, including consolidated reports, and manage the audit process to resolve any issues promptly.

  • Oversee the preparation and submission of monthly internal management reports.

  • Prepare and submit monthly consolidated financial statements for the group (Hong Kong-based), ensuring timely and accurate reporting.

  • Review and submit reports to government and other external entities as required.

Tax Compliance

  • Oversee the preparation and submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns.

  • Review tax provisions and deferred tax asset/liability calculations.

  • Manage documentation and compliance during tax audits and inspections.

  • Monitor changes in tax laws, assess their impact, and provide updates to management.

Budget Preparation and Monitoring

  • Conduct financial analysis of past budgets and expenditures to support budget preparation.

  • Collaborate with the finance director and mining team to develop and consolidate annual budgets.

  • Monitor budget performance, analyze variances, and prepare monthly reports.

Other Responsibilities

  • Evaluate the performance of accounting staff, identify training needs, and provide professional guidance.

  • Adhere to national laws, company policies, and internal regulations in all activities.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience, with a strong background in the mining industry.

  • Advanced proficiency in English (both written and spoken).

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, decision-making, and negotiation skills.

  • Detail-oriented with excellent time management and proficiency in standard office software.

Day-to-Day

  • Oversee and guide the accounting team to ensure smooth daily operations.

  • Review and approve financial transactions and reports.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address financial and operational challenges.

  • Monitor compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.

  • Provide regular updates to senior management on financial performance and key metrics.
